NAVIGATION EVENT 9/9

We went to the Grand Canyon, the Great Wall of China, and the Dragonfly in Second Life.

The Grand Canyon in Second Life try to reconstruct the real view of the Grand Canyon. I cna see the Colorado River and the Skywalk. It has many interactive function and different activity here.

We cannot fly at the Great Wall of China. However, the view of the Great Wal is extraordinary. It made me want to see the real Great Wall.

The Dragonfly has a view that combines fantasy, magic, and ancient civilizaton which reminds me of some game scenes. It is the best sight viewing place of the three places we went.

It is a place good for flying.

I think walking seemed to be easy and transparent. Just wandering around the place does not demanding any skill.

I think the pleasure of navigation is to explore the unknown field and discover new things.

However, sometimes it takes time to get used to the interactive function and figure out the right way to use it. Teleporting to the right place sometime takes time.

In the Second Life you can experience things that you cannot do in real life. You can try different views and you can fly. You are not limit to your eye sight. However, it has limitations like you cannot examine every single object in the Second Lfe.

I think the virtual reality of the Second Life is a good environment for social networking and online chatting. It would be a more interesting interface of communication because we are longer seeing windows and frames. Moreover, I think it could be more interesting if our websites are in a form of virtual world environment. All information can be navigated in  three-dimentional perspective and in a non-linear way. I think we can expand our surfing experience being more intuitive and more spatial.

I went to Crash Bang Trollop located at MetaLES. It is not big place compare to the places we went but it is also an interesting, funny, and artisitic place.  It has several small islands and has strange wires and signs around. It also have a lot of interactive function in it which is a nice surprise. I got a Zap suit here and I walked around to check out difference spots. There are many animations that your avatar can do here. I even found a boat here.
