especially targeting on younger people (under the age of 30)
· Value Proposition:
They expect to have new and interesting thing which is also convenient.
They like to represent their own unique identity.
· World Design Feature Categories:
Self –
1. Users are in 3D Avatar that can be customized in a style of
Anime/Cartoon.
2. It can do animation and express emotion for you.
3. You can edit your avatar at beginning and change
your outfits.
4. You can also set your mood of the day and the
avatar will act accordingly.
5. The Auto-bot option allow the program to detect words in the
conversation and your avatar express the emotion. When people say something bad
about you, your avatar would jump up in anger or cry. Your avatar would also animate
by detecting what you said. You can edit it or turn it off.
6. User rank system: When the user keeps using the program and other
function, the level of the user would goes up. Higher level allows the user to
have more functions and more customizable. They also received awards when they
level up.
7. The avatar records your activity and express your personality in your
profile
Place –
1. Every user owns customizable room.
2. They can use preset themes including fantasy world, Middle Age
Castles and Space station.
3. User can personalize your room with furniture and different decorations.
Some of them are interactive.
4. When you invite your friend to have a chat, a window would open and
shows your room. If your friends did not answer your invitation, you can leave
your offline message at their front door.
5. You can open multiple chat rooms or you can have multiple people in
the same chat room.
6. Your outfit might change when you enter the room depending on the
theme the chat room has.
7. Group room is also available if you create a group. You can have your
group conversation there and only group member can access the Group Room. Group
room is also editable for group admins so you can build your group memory.
8. All the conversation can be saved and recorded.
Purpose –
IM3D is
trying to combine the advantage of IM service and 3D online chatrooms. It is
also trying to communicate and connect with friends in a more interesting and
effective way beside plain text. A 3D avatar and environment can express more
about you. You can build your own environment and chat or play with your
friends in there. You are going to have more interactivity with your friends.
Fun Things To Do –
You can
chat with your friends, and play games with them using the same avatar. The
game can be played in the room.
You can enjoy having a pet and play with it.
Weather mood: Your location can affect your avatar and room.
Play music in your room.
Social and status update
Society –
It is a
very private world, so there will be no society involved except for the group.
The group creator can add and approve new group members and add admins. User
can add friends through email address and import from different IM service. 3D
function is only available for members.

Current Main Chatting Services:
The current main chatting services are mostly text-based. Even though
many 3D chatting services like IMVU are available, they are more close to
online chatrooms rather than IM services.
